CLEVELAND (AP) - Bail has been set at $5 million for a Cleveland man accused of fatally shooting his 12-year-old stepdaughter and injuring his estranged wife.

A Cleveland Municipal Court judge set 59-year-old Rufus Gray’s bail Saturday. Court records show Gray is charged with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault in the Thursday shootings of 12-year-old Davia Garth and her mother, Sonya Garth. The court doesn’t list an attorney for Gray.

Police say Gray went to Garth’s home Thursday and began shooting, with shots striking the girl and her mother. Authorities say they were taken to the hospital, where the girl died. Her mother was treated and released.

Local media report that Sonya Garth was seeking a divorce from Gray and that he was not living with her and her daughter.
