DENVER (AP) - A former board member says a bank formed to help Latinos has done very little mortgage lending to that community.

The Denver Post reports (https://tinyurl.com/l73coz5 ) Solera National Bank approved nearly $257 million for home purchases or refinancing existing mortgages through 2013, but most have been to non-Latinos.

Former board member Basil Sabbah says the goal of the bank was to increase the number of loans to Latinos, but that did not happen.

Solera’s current CEO Robert Fenton says the bank stopped offering residential mortgages and the bank was not in the residential mortgage business long enough to draw conclusions.
