WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) - Jared Cotton didn’t pass his “American Idol” audition, but he’ll be in the spotlight next month for his hometown’s Christmas parade.

The Telegraph of Macon reports (https://bit.ly/1sXch2U ) Cotton has been named grand marshal of the Christmas parade Dec. 6 in Warner Robins sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce.

A 2012 graduate of Houston County High School, Cotton auditioned for “American Idol” in Atlanta earlier this year but the judges sent him home rather than to Hollywood.

Parade organizers in Warner Robins say this year’s theme is “A Star-Spangled Christmas.” As grand marshal, Cotton will be featured on the procession’s first float.
