DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) - Numerous capital improvements are planned for a state park in central Ohio.

The director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources says improvements at the Alum Creek State Park in Delaware include a redesigned marina for boaters with new docks and room for larger boats. A renovated beach house also is among the renovations at the park about a 30-minute drive north of Columbus.

Ohio State Parks received $88.5 million for capital improvements to strengthen infrastructure and modernize facilities in the last capital budget. The estimated cost of the Alum Creek improvements is more than $4 million.

State officials say they have received more than 6,000 completed surveys on a website ODNR started to allow people to submit their ideas for improvements in the state’s park system of 74 parks.
