JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Juneau’s public transportation office is planning changes to bus routes to compensate for the budget cut in the city’s public works budget.

The Juneau Empire (https://is.gd/M3hapl) reports cuts will be made to some routes with fewer passengers.

Public Works director Kirk Duncan says several public meetings will be held next month on the changes ahead.

The new plan is not expected to take effect until late winter or early spring.

Duncan says his department’s budget has been reduced by $100,000.
