LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences has entered into an agreement with China’s Shanghai University on academic study and research for students and faculty.

The agreement paves the way to formally promote academic cooperation through UW Departments of Anthropology and History faculty and student exchanges for workshops, symposia and seminars of mutual interest.

In addition, there can be short-term agreements to allow exchanges in archaeological field work.

UW College of Arts and Sciences Dean Paula Lutz says these kinds of relationships serve to promote international dialogue and understanding.

Shanghai University consists of 26 colleges and schools. It has more than 24,000 undergraduates and 11,300 graduate students in 67 majors.
