CEDAR MILL, Ore. (AP) - A 70-year-old Portland man has died from injuries he suffered in a bicycle-truck collision in Washington County.

The Washington County sheriff’s department says the crash midday on Thursday happened at an intersection in the community of Cedar Mill.

An investigation found a FedEx truck turned into the path of the bicycle causing them to collide.

Kirke Johnson, who was riding a recumbent bicycle, did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The FedEx driver was identified as 60-year-old Delmar Suiter, from Gresham. The sheriff’s office says Suiter remained at the crash scene and cooperated with investigators.

The intersection was closed for about three hours during the investigation.

Investigators determined inattentiveness was likely a contributing factor in the crash.
