ROSENBERG, Texas (AP) - Emergency crews have stopped a natural gas leak in a sewer system that prompted the evacuation of about 50 homes near Houston.

Rosenberg police say the evacuation order was lifted around midday Thursday as repairs continued. Nobody was hurt.

Rosenberg Fire Department spokeswoman Barbara Smolik (SMAH’-lik) says the evacuation order was issued Wednesday night for a four-block area. Smolik says the leak was traced to the water-sewer system and repair crews worked overnight to find the exact spot.

Rosenberg is about 25 miles southwest of Houston.
