WHAT’S AT STAKE

With no chance to be bowl eligible, North Texas plays the home finale for 17 senior players. FIU is already playing its final game of the season, going for its sixth consecutive victory in the series against the Mean Green.



KEY MATCHUP

Inside the red zone. North Texas leads Conference USA and is third among all FBS teams by scoring 93 percent of the time the Mean Green get inside the 20-yard line. FIU is first in the league and fourth nationally, allowing opponents to score only 68 percent of the time inside the 20.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

FIU: Junior linebacker Davison Colimon is the current C-USA defensive player of the week, after a 79-yard interception return for a touchdown last week against Middle Tennessee.

North Texas: Junior WR Carlos Harris is second in Conference USA with 5.7 catches and 70.7 yards per game. Harris has 707 yards receiving, 86 from the most in a season since coach Dan McCarney’s arrival in 2011.

The North Texas defense has held consecutive opponents to less than 100 yards passing for the first time since 2009. … Mean Green freshman Trevor Moore is 34-for-34 on extra points. The school record for a season is 37-for-37, by two different kickers. … Andrew McNulty’s 65-yard run against UTEP last week was the longest by a Mean Green quarterback since 1990. … FIU’s defense has forced a national-leading 31 turnovers.
