BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Biloxi police and the Harrison County Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the death of a person whose remains were found on the old Broadwater resort site.
Police Lt. Christopher De Back tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1Hu2JHL) a resident walking in the area discovered human remains around 1 p.m. Thursday in a wooded area off Beach Boulevard.
Authorities say the death is being treated as suspicious.
De Beck says police are checking missing person reports to try to identify the remains.
The Broadwater site has been vacant since Hurricane Katrina destroyed most of the buildings in 2005.
