LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says a 44-year-old man was killed in a crash south of Laramie that involved a tractor-trailer and a small car.

Sgt. David Wagener says a man driving the truck on U.S. Highway 287 was slowing down to turn into the parking lot of a construction area when he was rear-ended by a Toyota Yaris at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

The driver of the Yaris, John Scandrett, of Laramie, was killed in the crash. The truck driver was not injured.

Investigators say the crash marked the 135th highway fatality in Wyoming this year.
