LAS VEGAS (AP) - President Barack Obama is scheduled to spend the weekend in the Las Vegas area before heading back to Washington, D.C.

The White House said Friday the president will spend the night Saturday in nearby Henderson before departing Sunday from McCarran International Airport.

Specifics weren’t provided.

The president arrived in Las Vegas on Friday for and visited a Las Vegas High School to sign an executive order on immigration.

With him aboard Air Force One was a delegation of congressional Democrats including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Nevada U.S. Reps. Dina Titus and Steven Horsford.

The president says his executive order will protect as many as 5 million immigrants who are illegally in the United States from deportation.
