LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) - Three people were killed and three injured in a two-vehicle crash in Lancaster.

Deputy Patrick Griffin says the dead had all been riding in a Jeep Cherokee that appeared to be speeding early Friday evening.

He says the Jeep collided with a Dodge pickup truck that was turning at a traffic light. Four of the Jeep’s five occupants were ejected when it spun into a pole and then struck a tree.

Griffin says two of those died at the scene and another was declared dead at a hospital.

City News Service says three people were also hospitalized from the crash.
