PROVO, Utah (AP) - A couple have pleaded guilty to murder charges in the 2012 shooting death of their alleged drug dealer in Payson.

Entering the pleas Friday in 4th District Court were 28-year-old Stephan Sutton and 22-year-old Chaelisa Nielsen.

Sutton apologized to the family of 28-year-old victim Jeff Vern Jensen and admitted he pulled the trigger. Nielsen helped plan the crime.

The two are accused of going to a Provo truck stop in November 2012 to rob him of cash for Christmas.

When Jensen approached their vehicle, Sutton stuck a shotgun to his chest and fired. Jensen then got out of the vehicle and took money and other items from Jensen.

Sutton and Nielsen await sentencing Jan. 13 after pleading guilty to first-degree felony murder charges.
