BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Montana State University plans to confer an honorary doctorate in letters and science to U.S. diplomat and adviser Brooke D. Anderson.

Anderson has served as ambassador to the United Nations and as chief of staff and counselor for the National Security Council. Most recently she has been senior adviser to the secretary of state on nuclear negotiations with Iran.

Montana State officials announced Friday she will be honored during fall commencement Dec. 13.

The Bozeman Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1xOsCz4 ) Anderson moved to Bozeman in 2012 and plans to resume teaching political science at Montana State.
