TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Khristian Smith scored 23 points and Devonte Brown added 21 and Indiana State held on against Brown 78-66 in the Las Vegas Invitational Tournament on Saturday.

The Sycamores (2-1) shot 48 percent from the floor, went 6 of 16 beyond the arc and 18 of 23 from the line. Devonte Brown paced Indiana State in the first with 8 points as the Sycamores used a 15-0 run, including a pair of 3-pointers by Tre Bennett on consecutive possessions, to turn a 1-point deficit into an 11-point advantage at intermission.

The Bears (1-3) scored 10 of the first 12 points of the second half, with five players scoring, to get within 3 - and eventually cut it to 1 with 10:19 left. But a 7-point run by Indiana State - all by Devonte Brown - gave the Sycamores an 11-point lead with 4:20 left.

Leland King had 25 points for Brown.
