KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - Police in central Nebraska are investigating the shooting of a man who is now being treated for his injuries in an Omaha hospital.

The Kearney Hub reports (https://bit.ly/1z9PZjo ) that the shooting happened around 4:40 a.m. Saturday in south Kearney. Police report that officers were called to the area by people suspicious of a person walking in the area. Once there, officers found a man who had been shot twice.

Kearney Police Capt. Mike Kirkwood says the man was taken to a Kearney hospital and was later flown to an Omaha hospital.

Police say they are looking for a 25-year-old man who knows the victim and was staying at a south Kearney hotel.
