NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - A Natchez woman has been indicted for manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend during a domestic dispute in July.

The Natchez Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/11HkjXC) an Adams County grand jury indicted 46-year-old LaVonda Darcell Jackson in the death of 30-year-old Tere McGraw.

Jackson surrendered to authorities and was released on $45,000 bond. It was unknown whether she has an attorney.

Natchez Police said at the couple had been drinking and began arguing at Jackson’s home early July 25. Police said during the argument, Jackson grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed McGraw in the left upper chest. McGraw was pronounced dead at the scene.

District Attorney Ronnie Harper couldn’t be reached for comment Friday about why he decided to present the case to the grand jury.
