TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A Phoenix man has been arrested for allegedly punching a police horse in Tempe.

Tempe police say 20-year-old Bryson Albert was taken into custody for harming a service animal, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say an officer tried to break up a fight on Mill Avenue and Albert punched the officer’s horse.

Officers also reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Albert’s pants pocket.

He reportedly told police that the pants belonged to his brother.

It was unclear Friday if Albert has a lawyer yet for his case.
