ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - When a food truck that sells gourmet popcorn disappeared from a street in Virginia, police found themselves with a kernel caper on their hands. But the truck popped up less than 24 hours later.

The co-owner of the Popped! Republic truck called police Friday when he found his bright orange truck missing from in front of the company’s retail shop in Alexandria. Rich Arslan says his team locked up the truck between 8 and 9 p.m. Thursday, but by 7 a.m. Friday it was gone.

Photos of the missing truck were posted Twitter and Facebook and Arslan spoke to a local television station. A Twitter user spotted the truck Friday evening in Forestville, Maryland, and alerted authorities. Authorities were able to recover the truck, which had minor damage.
