BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple has picked the official state governor’s band and chorus from high schools in Stanley and Bismarck.

Dalrymple says the Stanley High School Band and the Bismarck Century High School Chorale exemplify the “outstanding musical talent that exists in schools and communities across our state.”

The Stanley High School Band is directed by Evan Meiers. The band has received the highest rating at a regional festival and has been invited to perform at one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games.

Bismarck Century High School Chorale is directed by Mary Pat Archuleta. The choir provides music at several events annually. The choir last year represented the state with performances in Boston and New York City.

The governor’s band and chorus is invited to perform at official state functions.
