TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in Tulsa are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman.

Tulsa Police Department officers and first responders received a call around 3:30 a.m. Saturday about a woman down on a sidewalk. The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/1vzktxG ) paramedics found her dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

Sgt. Dave Walker says it’s possible she could have been shot up to an hour before her body was discovered.

The unidentified woman is believed to be 31 years old. Walker says she was described as transient but staying in the area. Her personal effects appeared to have been searched after she was shot.

Walker says witnesses saw a man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt standing over the woman’s body before she was found.

The death is Tulsa’s 48th homicide this year.
