LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (AP) - Lee County deputies found an underground marijuana grow house beneath a home’s foundation containing more than 100 pounds of drugs worth nearly $100,000.

The discovery was made Thursday.

Officials say residents were able to dig underneath the home’s foundation and construct an area designed to grow marijuana. There were access ports to the area covered by rugs to avoid detection.

The News Press (https://newspr.es/1uk01tW) reports that 31 live plants were recovered, weighing 118 pounds and worth some $93,000. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
