MIAMI (AP) - A Roman Catholic church official in Haiti will celebrate Mass with Haitian-Americans in Miami.

Cardinal Chibly Langlois is the first Haitian bishop to be named a cardinal. When Pope Francis elevated his rank Jan. 12, Langlois was the youngest among the other men named as cardinals and he was the only one who was not already an archbishop. He received his “red hat” in February at the Vatican.

On Sunday, Langlois will celebrate Mass at Notre Dame d’Haiti in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. South Florida is home to the largest Haitian community in the U.S.

Langlois leads the Diocese of Les Cayes, Haiti.
