SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - A senior political science major at Wabash College and a University of Notre Dame graduate are among 32 people named Sunday as Rhodes Scholars.

Jacob Burnett of Mishawaka minors in psychology at Wabash and has won academic awards in several subjects. He also is news editor of the student newspaper and president pro tempore of the student body.

Alexander Coccia of Columbus, Ohio, graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Africana Studies and Peace Studies. He is a Truman-Albright Fellow. He was the student body president and led the amendment of the student union nondiscrimination clause to include gender identify, disability and documentation status. He was a member of the 2011 national championship fencing team.
