NOWATA, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says five people are dead following a head-on collision in Nowata County.

The patrol says the deadly collision occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 169 about five miles south of Nowata. Troopers say a northbound vehicle crossed the center line of the highway and struck a southbound vehicle head-on.

Killed in the crash were the driver of the northbound vehicle, 35-year-old Micah Walker of Nowata, and a passenger, 34-year-old Calvin Wyckoff of Tulsa. Troopers say both victims were pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.

Troopers say the driver of the southbound vehicle, 59-year-old Kevin Smith of Nowata, a passenger, 49-year-old Maria Smith of Nowata, and an unnamed 13-year-old boy who was also a passenger in the car were also killed.
