SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - An autopsy is scheduled Monday for a 2-year-old Santa Ana boy whose death is being investigated as a possible homicide.

The Orange County Register (https://bit.ly/159Yl1K) reports that neighbors on the boy’s street were awakened before dawn Saturday by the sound of his mother screaming for help.

Santa Ana police say he was not breathing when officers arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy’s parents and another person in the home were questioned, but no arrests were made.

Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says a search warrant was also served on the home.

Neighbors tell the Register the family only recently moved in.

Many met the boy and his mother for the first time when she took him through the neighborhood to trick-or-treat on Halloween.
