FRANKFORD, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police is investigating the attempted armed robbery of a man that occurred at a Frankford home.

State Police say on Friday at about 7 p.m. a 62-year-old man was getting out of his car in the 35000 block of Bay Lane when three male suspects approached him. State Police say one of the men was armed with a rifle and that the men attempted to take the victim’s property, but the victim refused and began to struggle with the suspects.

State Police say during the struggle the man was struck in the face, causing a minor injury.

The three suspects then fled from the area in a sport utility vehicle of unknown make and model. All three suspects were described as black men dressed in black clothing.
