HELENA, Mont. (AP) - This year’s list of 32 Rhodes scholars includes a man from Helena who has been interning in the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change.

Aven P. Satre Meloy graduated with honors last year from Santa Clara University in California.

Meloy majored in political science and environmental science and developed Santa Clara’s first university-wide honor code. He also served as chief justice in the judicial branch of student government.

Meloy won a Fulbright Scholarship to Turkey.

The Rhodes Scholarship will enable Meloy to pursue a master of philosophy in geography and the environment at Oxford University in England.
