DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - Catholic Charities’ Meals on Wheels is expanding its delivery service in the Decatur area next month.

The (Decatur) Herald-Review reports (https://bit.ly/1FdN9Of ) the program will start delivering hot meals five days a week to all clients living outside Decatur beginning Dec. 1.

The change replaces the twice per week delivery of hot meals, supplemented by three frozen ones to homebound residents in Macon County’s rural area.

Volunteer coordinator Rolland Johnson says the program is able to increase the meal service because of generous donations.

She says the added benefit of the change is the ability to increase the number of safety checks on residents.
