COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - In a nod to their states’ historic football rivalry, Ohio and Michigan health advocates have launched a competition to see which state can reach the most uninsured residents about health coverage.

Teams for the nonprofit advocacy group Get Covered America have set their “Calls for Coverage” interstate challenge for Monday, in the lead-up to Saturday’s Ohio State-Michigan game.

The group wants to see which state can contact the most consumers with educational information about enrolling in health coverage during the second open enrollment period under the national Affordable Care Act.

Enrollment opened Nov. 15 and runs through Feb. 15. December 15 is the deadline to enroll for coverage starting Jan. 1.
