RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - Active cleanup work has wrapped up at a polluted, vacant lot in downtown Riverton.

Vickie Meredith with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality says Riverton officials successfully cleaned up solvents in the soil. She says now there are no restrictions on how the property can be used.

The Riverton Ranger reports (www.dailyranger.com ) a gas station was located on the property from 1975 to 1983 and a dry cleaning business was there from 1983-1995.

Some petroleum contamination remains in the groundwater and an air pump system will remain in place to help clean up that pollution.
