MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire authorities say a Manchester man arrested after a loud party complaint returned to his apartment and fired a shot into the floor above the complaining neighbor’s apartment, narrowly missing the first-floor tenant’s sleeping son.

Police say Gilberto Santiago later admitted to firing the shotgun into the floor at his Putnam Street apartment early Saturday morning.

The first-floor tenant told WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1xnLUpB ) that he first called police when the loud party in his backyard turned into a fight.

Police arrested Santiago on charges related to the fight.

It was after Santiago returned to his apartment, the first-floor tenant says, that he fired a shot into the floor, narrowly missing the man’s 2-year-old son who was asleep in the first floor apartment.

Police are continuing to investigate.
