BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple has selected high school groups from Stanley and Bismarck as the governor’s official state band and chorus.

The Stanley High School band and Bismarck Century High School chorale were selected from applications submitted by schools and civic groups.

The Stanley band is directed by Evan Meiers. It has received the highest rating at the regional festival and has been invited to perform at a Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game.

The Bismarck Century chorale is directed by Mary Pat Archuleta. Choir members have ranked among the best in all-state and music festivals. Last year the choir represented the state with performances in Boston and New York City.

Dalrymple says the two winners are “impressive and accomplished organizations” that will serve North Dakota with “pride and enthusiasm.”
