JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Jonesboro police have arrested a man who they say tried to hide a bag of methamphetamine in a police car before stuffing it in his mouth.

The 43-year-old Jonesboro man was being held at the Craighead County Jail on Monday and faces a charge of possessing a controlled substance.

KAIT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1vDFqYO ) an officer stopped him over the weekend because his bicycle was missing a light. The officer asked to search the suspect and the man started emptying his pockets. The officer says the man tried to stuff the bag under the patrol car’s hood before putting it in his mouth. Other officers arrived at the scene and one shot the man with a stun gun after telling him to spit out the bag.

Officers say the bag then fell out of his mouth.
