STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - Sturgis police have arrested a person who they say shot someone in the head.

The Rapid City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1xTepks ) Assistant Police Chief Geody VanDewater said authorities responded to a home Sunday where the person had been shot. They say the suspect and victim had gotten into an argument before the suspect shot the victim once in the head with a pistol.

VanDewater says the victim was alert and conscious when authorities arrived and was later flown to a hospital.

VanDewater says there were no other victims and there is no threat to the general public. No charges have been reported.

Authorities haven’t provided information about the people involved. They are investigating.
