TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Voters on the north end of Lee County will decide Tuesday a runoff in a local justice court race.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

The winner will complete the term of Justice Court Judge Pat Carr, who has retired. Carr served as a judge for 24 years. He had been re-elected to a term that began in January 2012. The term ends in January 2016.

The job pays $47,844 annually.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1ytDeAn ) retired state trooper Perry Lansdell and independent contractor Chuck Hopkins are on the ballot.

The 58-year-old Lansdell has 32 years of law enforcement experience.

The 38-year-old Hopkins is the son and grandson of former justice court judges.
