WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Two Williams County department heads have resigned after being placed on leave following months of friction.

The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1GeUjTO ) that Emergency Services Director Mike Hallesy and Information Technology Director Scott Boyer were placed on leave during an investigation into an argument involving the two men on Oct. 10. Both officials recently resigned.

Human Resources Director Helen Askim says “philosophical differences” between the men for more than a year were behind the dispute.

Hallesy had worked for the county since 2009 and Boyer since 2013. Askim expects listings for their positions to be posted as early as this week.
