BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a 3-month-old baby found unresponsive in her Brockton home last month has died.

The Plymouth district attorney’s office announced the death of Pepper Olsen on Sunday.

The death came a week after police and emergency personnel responded to the home and rushed the baby to a local hospital in critical condition. She was later transferred to a Boston hospital.

The Enterprise (https://bit.ly/10iPdVR ) reports that the child’s father had knocked on a neighbor’s door Oct. 26 and said the baby’s mother had fallen asleep while holding her and may have smothered her.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

No one has been charged.
