LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Henderson police officer accused of driving under the influence and driving a pickup truck the wrong way on a northwest Las Vegas freeway is taking a plea deal that will get him house arrest and enrollment in an alcohol treatment program.

Defense attorney Joshua Tomsheck says Joseph Lawrance pleaded no contest Monday to DUI, and will plead guilty Nov. 13 to felony evading.

Tomsheck says the 31-year-old Lawrance will get a chance to end up with no more than misdemeanors on his record if he stays out of trouble and completes a year of alcohol treatment.

Lawrance was accused of having a blood-alcohol percentage more than twice the legal limit when he was stopped driving a Toyota Tundra a little before 1 a.m. Oct. 23 on U.S. 95.
