STONY POINT, N.Y. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a man found in a Rockland County park beneath a bridge.

The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1qm2tQ8 ) says the body was discovered by police at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in Charles S. Eccher Park under the James A. Farley Memorial Bridge in Stony Point.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.

Route 9W travels across the bridge, which reopened to traffic in late 2010 after being rebuilt.

The park below has a pavilion, playground, walking track, basketball courts, kiddie pool and walking track.
