PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - The trial of a man accused of killing another man during a robbery is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Mercer County.

Forty-four-year-old Oscar Ross Combs Sr. is charged with first-degree murder. Combs and his son, 21-year-old Oscar Combs Jr., are accused of killing James “Bo” Butler of Summers County.

Butler’s body was found in April 2011 over a hillside near the Wyoming-Mercer county line.

Oscar Combs Jr. also is charged with first-degree murder. Mercer County assistant prosecutor John McGinnis tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph (https://bit.ly/1qm3Nmj ) that the son’s trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 5, 2015.

Murder and other charges against 38-year-old Linda Ann Combs have been dropped in exchange for her testimony. McGinnis says Linda Combs is the mother of Oscar Combs Jr. and the ex-wife of Oscar Combs Sr.
