FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Flint police say a man has helped capture a break-in suspect outside a neighbor’s home by holding him down with a cane until officers arrived.

The Flint Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1wWWszf ) police said Sunday they responded to a call early Thursday from a neighbor who said he noticed someone breaking into a residence where no one was home.

Police say the man used his cane to hold down the 47-year-old suspect as he tried to flee. Officers took the suspect into custody and found he had antique watches and gold jewelry in his possession.

He was arrested on charges of breaking and entering and possession of stolen property and was booked into the Flint City Jail.
