ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a Roswell store clerk cheated and threatened a customer - and then was arrested again for trying to bribe a co-worker about the case.

The Roswell Daily Record reports (https://goo.gl/KxbP73) that 33-year-old Joanna Aguero is being held on $10,000 surety bond connected to an alleged bizarre chain of events last month.

According to police, a Roswell Family Dollar customer gave Aguero $100 bill for a purchase of $9.75 dinner items. But police say Aguero put the bill in her back pocket and told the 50-year-old man that she and her children needed the money.

After her arrest and release, police say she tried to bribe a co-worker $20 for her silence.

Aguero faces a number of charges, including larceny and intimidation of a witness.

It was not known if she had an attorney.
