PITTSBURGH (AP) - California University of Pennsylvania is vowing a complete review of the football program following the arrests of six players in a beating outside an off-campus restaurant last week.

Interim university president Geraldine Jones said in a statement Monday that in light of this and previous events, a task force would be formed to conduct a “top-to-bottom” review of the program.

The six players were immediately suspended following their arrests in Thursday’s assault, which a witness told police ended with the suspects fleeing yelling “Football strong!”

The university forfeited Saturday’s football game against Gannon University.

Jones said the team’s season would resume with next Saturday’s game against Mercyhurst University but warned players of a “zero-tolerance” policy with any infraction of team conduct rules resulting in immediate suspension from the squad.
