GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Snow Hill woman critically injured in a wreck late last week has died.

Officials said 69-year-old Barbara Tripp died from injuries suffered in the wreck that had killed her daughter.

Forty-one-year-old Crystal Tripp Brann was driving the car that wrecked around 1:15 a.m. Oct. 28 on U.S. 264 northwest of Greenville.

Multiple media outlets reported the wreck happened when the car stopped in the right-hand lane and it was struck from behind by a truck.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is trying to determine why Brann’s car was stopped in the road.

No charges have been filed.
