HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) - Bay Area Rapid Transit officials say nobody was hurt when an unoccupied train caught fire over the weekend.

KPIX-TV reports (https://cbsloc.al/1ttJIhf ) one of the train’s cars was undergoing maintenance at the Hayward yard Sunday morning when flames broke out.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, and kept them from getting inside the train.

Crews had replaced a section underneath the car before the fire. Officials are investigating the cause.

No injuries were reported. Only the outside of the train was damaged.
