Police say she was killed Thursday when her stepfather Rufus Gray entered the home and began shooting. The girl and her mother were taken to the hospital, where the girl died.

Fifty-nine-year-old Gray is charged with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault.

Local media report Sonya Garth was seeking a divorce from Gray and that he wasn’t living with her.
