NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - A Natchez woman has posted a $5,000 bond after her arrest for possession of nearly 80 pounds of synthetic marijuana.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield tells The Natchez Democrat (https://bit.ly/1vClr6T ) 51-year-old Cynthia Marie Strickland was arrested Friday after going to a post office to collect two packages.

Mayfield says authorities knew about the drugs and were waiting for Strickland to arrive to pick them up.

Mayfield says the synthetic marijuana, also known as spice, was packaged in smell-proof bags to block the scent.

Mayfield says no more drugs were found in a search of Strickland’s home.

He says the investigation is ongoing.

Strickland is charged with possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute.
