SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office says a woman driving to work was killed after a head-on collision in San Ildefonso Pueblo.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports (https://bit.ly/129wkGh) that the 37-year-old Santa Cruz woman was traveling south on N.M. 30 early Saturday morning when a Chevrolet Impala going north swerved and crashed into her Chevrolet Cavalier.

Sheriff’s spokesman Joe McLaughlin says the victim died at the scene.

McLaughlin says the 36-year-old Los Alamos man driving the Impala lost control and authorities suspect he was intoxicated.

The suspect and his 40-year-old female passenger were airlifted to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
